Akayoroi
Armor & Helmet

This
beautiful “vermillion-red” Yoroi is modeled
after the battle armor worn by the Shogun during the
increasingly turbulent times of the 1300’s. It
is brought back to life by our skilled artisans, who
meticulously shape each piece by hand. The helmet is
comprised of 8 separate iron plates, each with its own
specific proportions. When joined, they result in the
perfectly formed kabuto seen here. The body armor is
also constructed by hand, out of multiple iron plates.
This historical armor set, suitable to display or wear,
consists of the Kabuto, Yoroi and Kogusoku parts and
accessories you see listed in the charts below. Any
of the traditional Japanese family crests from our
list can also be added to the armor’s chest
for free. Your armor will also come in a black lacquered
wooden storage box that doubles as a beautiful stand
for you to proudly display your Yoroi.

armor generally fits adults up to 6’ (185cm) tall,
with up to 41” (105cm) chests. If you need a larger
size, we would be happy to offer you our custom sizing
service to ensure a perfect fit. A slight fee (up to
30% of the listed price) may be charged, depending on
your measurements. It will take 1 to 2 additional weeks
to complete a custom sized suit of armor. |
